RESEARCH INTERESTS
Metamorphic Petrology
- studies of phase equilibria in high-grade metamorphic
rocks and their modeling using equilibrium thermodynamics (the
Perple_X
package),
e.g. thermodynamic modeling of stability field of various
mineral asseblages, determination of pressure-temperature conditions of their
formation, and modeling of expansion of the stability
field of various phases due to presence of minor components.
- spatial distribution of minerals in high-grade rocks,
and microstructural changes associated with metamorphic process.
Structural Geology and Tectonics
- field-oriented studies of structures developed
during collisional processes, and combination of structural and metamorphic data
for the purpose of interpretation of thermal
and tectonic evolution of orogenic belts. My fields of interest are the collisional boundaries
at the western and eastern margins of the Bohemian
Massif, the Kaoko belt in NW Namibia and the Dom Feliciano Belt in Uruguay.
