VII. Options change

This item invokes a submenu with several options, namely:

1) Install

This option calls the INSTALL module, which can be used, apart from setting up the proper configuration, also to attach new standard modules and user-defined functions, or, on the other hand, to delete these from the system. When starting the INSTALL module from within NORMAN, a warning is displayed that all the data/results currently in memory will be lost unless saved.

2) CIPW options

Required options for CIPW calculations are set here:

"Recast to 100%?" - shall the normative minerals be recalculated to the sum of 100%?
"Use CO2?" - is calcite/Na-carbonate to be calculated?
"Cancrinite present?" - shall be Na-carbonate calculated instead of calcite?
"Calculate spinel?" - shall be spinel calculated for samples with SiO2 < 45% (see Hutchison 1975)?

3) Set fixed Fe2O3/FeO?

Fixed iron ratio can be specified for all the samples.

4) No of decimal places

This menu item makes possible to determine the number of decimal places (0-6) the results shall be rounded to for the output (display, saving, printing).

Note: all the configuration files are updated only once, that is prior to leaving the installation module. The same holds true for deleting the specified files. Only the *.DEF files are saved, if required, immediately after the necessary changes have been made by the editor.
