Welcome to the homepage of the Institute of Petrology and Structural Geology (IPSG) at the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. This site is still under construction and will be permanently updated and extended.

We aim to explore and understand the earth, its complex processes and their effects on society. Our research contributes to the fundamentals of igneous petrology, metamorphic petrology and structural geology. We encourage enquiries from qualified students, post-doctoral fellows, and visiting scientists.

The IPSG at Charles University offers interesting and challenging courses in composition, structure, and evolution of the Earth. The IPSG offers a Master Degree in both Petrology and Structural Geology (by diploma thesis) and a full PhD program.
