During the last decade new concepts have been developed dealing with the geodynamic, metamorphic and rheological significance of granulites in orogeny and the physical and metamorphic consequences of partial melting. Therefore, the main theme of the coming conference is the production, distribution and evolution of melt in the orogenic crust.
